The Flintstones

The Flintstones is an American animated sitcom produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions. The series takes place in a romanticized Stone Age setting and follows the activities of the titular family, the Flintstones, and their next-door neighbors, the Rubbles.

Premise

The show is set in the prehistoric town of Bedrock and depicts the lives of the Flintstone family: Fred Flintstone, his wife Wilma Flintstone, their daughter Pebbles Flintstone, and their pet dinosaur Dino. Their neighbors are the Rubble family: Barney Rubble, his wife Betty Rubble, and their son Bamm-Bamm Rubble.

The series portrays modern conveniences and technology in a Stone Age context, with characters using dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures as tools and appliances. For example, cars are powered by foot, and woolly mammoths serve as vacuum cleaners.
