Thatchers Cider

Thatchers Cider is a renowned cider-making company based in Sandford, in North Somerset, England. The company has been in the Thatcher family since 1904 and is currently run by the fourth generation of Thatchers.

History

Thatchers Cider was established in 1904 by William John Thatcher. He made farmhouse cider for the workers on his farm. His son, Stanley Thatcher, born in 1910, began selling draught cider to pubs in Somerset and the company has grown ever since.

Production

Thatchers Cider is produced using a blend of apple varieties, some of which are grown in the company's own orchards. The apples are harvested, milled and pressed to extract the juice. The juice is then fermented and matured to produce cider. Thatchers produces a range of ciders, including Thatchers Gold, Thatchers Haze, and Thatchers Vintage.

Sustainability

Thatchers Cider is committed to sustainability. The company has implemented a number of initiatives to reduce its environmental impact, including the use of lightweight bottles and a commitment to zero waste to landfill.

Awards and Recognition

Thatchers Cider has received numerous awards for its ciders, including the International Cider Challenge and the Great Taste Awards. The company's commitment to quality and tradition has earned it a strong reputation in the cider industry.
