Supprelin LA - (pronounced) (suh-PREH-lin. . . ) A drug used to treat early puberty in both men and women. Supprelin LA keeps the testicles and ovaries from producing sex hormones by blocking other hormones needed for their production. This causes the testicles to stop producing testosterone in men and the ovaries to stop producing estradiol (a form of the hormone estrogen) in women. Supprelin LA contains the active ingredient histrelin acetate. It's a type of LHRH (or GnRH) agonist and a type of androgen deprivation therapy that is reversible
