Background

Audrie Pott was a 15-year-old high school student from Saratoga, California. She attended Saratoga High School and was known for her artistic talents and vibrant personality. Her tragic death in September 2012 brought national attention to issues of cyberbullying and sexual assault among teenagers.

Incident

In September 2012, Audrie Pott attended a party at a friend's house where she consumed alcohol. During the party, she was sexually assaulted by three teenage boys, who took photographs of the assault. These images were later circulated among students at her school, leading to severe emotional distress for Audrie.

Aftermath

Following the incident, Audrie Pott experienced significant bullying and humiliation at school due to the circulation of the photographs. She expressed feelings of hopelessness and despair in the days following the assault. Tragically, Audrie took her own life on September 10, 2012, eight days after the incident.
