Solar Dryer

A solar dryer is a device that uses solar energy to dry substances, particularly food. Solar drying is a form of solar energy utilization that is more efficient than traditional open-air drying methods. Types of Solar Dryers

Direct Solar Dryers

Indirect Solar Dryers

Indirect solar dryers separate the solar collector from the drying chamber. The air is heated in the solar collector and then circulated through the drying chamber where the material is placed. This method provides more controlled drying conditions and reduces the risk of direct exposure to sunlight, which can degrade some materials. Indirect solar dryers are often used for more delicate products that require gentle drying.

Mixed-Mode Solar Dryers

Mixed-mode solar dryers combine features of both direct and indirect dryers. They use both direct solar radiation and pre-heated air to dry the materials. This type of dryer can offer the advantages of both methods, providing efficient and uniform drying.
