Sheaf (agriculture)
Sheaf (agriculture) refers to a bundle of grain stalks laid lengthwise and tied together after reaping. Sheaves are a traditional method for handling and collecting grain crops and have been used in agriculture for thousands of years. The practice of making sheaves is closely associated with the harvest process in many agricultural societies.
History
The use of sheaves in agriculture dates back to ancient times, where manual methods of harvesting, such as using a sickle or a scythe, were prevalent.
