Shaheed Nirmal Mahto Medical College is a government medical college located in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, India. It was established in 1969 as Patliputra Medical College in Patna, Bihar. The college was later transferred to Dhanbad by the government of Bihar and expanded with the addition of Sadar Hospital, SSLNT Hospital Purana Bazaar Dhanbad, and Central Hospital Jagjeevan Nagar Dhanbad.
The college and hospital are situated on a 60 acres (24 ha) campus in Saraidhela, Dhanbad. The medical college building has been functional since 1977, while the hospital building started operating in 2001-2002 with a capacity of 900 beds. The hospital at the Saraidhela campus houses all clinical departments, except for surgery and orthopedics, which are located in the old building at Sadar.
Since 1977, the college has an annual enrollment of 50 students in the M.B.B.S program. Additionally, the college offers paramedical training courses in various streams. The hospital provides medical facilities to approximately 1000 OPD patients per day from neighboring districts and states.
