A Semicircle (/ˈsɛmiˌsɜːrkl/; from Latin semi- "half" + circulus "circle") is a one-dimensional geometric shape that forms half of a circle.

In geometry, a semicircle is defined as the set of all points on a plane that are at a fixed distance from a fixed point (the center) and are also on the same side of a fixed line (the diameter) that passes through the center.
