Rob Feenie

Rob Feenie is a renowned Canadian chef, cookbook author, and television personality. He is best known for his innovative approach to cooking and his dedication to creating unique, high-quality dishes.

Early Life and Education

Rob Feenie was born and raised in Burnaby, British Columbia. He developed a passion for cooking at a young age and decided to pursue a career in the culinary arts. He attended the Dubrulle Culinary Institute in Vancouver, where he honed his skills and developed his unique style of cooking.

Career

After graduating from culinary school, Feenie worked in several prestigious restaurants in Vancouver and France. He gained recognition for his innovative approach to cooking and his ability to create unique, high-quality dishes.

In 1995, Feenie opened his first restaurant, Lumière, in Vancouver. The restaurant quickly gained a reputation for its innovative menu and high-quality ingredients. In 2001, he opened a second restaurant, Feenie's, which was more casual and affordable than Lumière.

Feenie has also made a name for himself as a television personality. He has appeared on several cooking shows, including Iron Chef America, where he became the first Canadian to win the competition. He has also hosted his own television show, New Classics with Rob Feenie, on the Food Network Canada.

Cookbooks

In addition to his work in restaurants and on television, Feenie has written several cookbooks. His first book, Lumière Light, was published in 2003 and features recipes from his restaurant. He has also written Feenie's: Brunch - Lunch - Dinner, which includes recipes from his second restaurant, and Casual Classics, which features easy-to-make recipes for home cooks.

Over the course of his career, Feenie has received numerous awards and accolades for his work in the culinary arts. He has been named Chef of the Year by the Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards and has received the Pinnacle Award for Independent Restaurateur of the Year. In 2006, he was inducted into the BC Restaurant Hall of Fame.
