Certs
(Redirected from Retsyn)
Certs is a brand of breath mints that has been around since the 1960s. It is produced by the American company, Mondelez International, and is known for its distinctively refreshing flavor and small, convenient packaging. Certs is available in a variety of flavors, including peppermint, spearmint, and fruit flavors.
History
Certs was first introduced in the United States in 1960 by the American Chicle Company, a subsidiary of Warner-Lambert. It was marketed as a "breath mint" and was the first product of its kind to contain a special ingredient called Retsyn, which is a combination of partially hydrogenated cottonseed oil, copper gluconate, and flavoring. This unique formulation was designed to provide a longer-lasting, more effective breath freshening experience.
Product Line
Over the years, Certs has expanded its product line to include a variety of flavors and formats. The original Certs product was a small, round mint that was sold in a roll. Today, Certs also offers larger, disc-shaped mints that are sold in a flip-top box. Some of the most popular flavors include peppermint, spearmint, wintergreen, cinnamon, and various fruit flavors.
Cultural Impact
Certs has had a significant cultural impact since its introduction. It has been featured in numerous films and television shows, and has been referenced in popular music and literature. The brand's distinctive packaging and memorable advertising campaigns have made it a recognizable part of American pop culture.
