Respond (/rɪˈspɒnd/), from the Latin respondēre meaning "to answer", is a term used in various fields of medicine. It generally refers to the reaction or behavior of an organism, tissue, or cell to a specific stimulus.

In the context of medicine, to respond can mean the body's reaction to a treatment, medication, or intervention. For example, a patient may be said to "respond" to a drug if their symptoms improve after taking it.
