Remy's Ratatouille Adventure
Remy's Ratatouille Adventure is a trackless dark ride attraction based on the 2007 Disney-Pixar animated film Ratatouille. The ride is located at Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris and at Epcot in Walt Disney World.
History
The attraction first opened at Walt Disney Studios Park on July 10, 2014. Due to its popularity, a second version of the ride was constructed at Epcot in Walt Disney World, which opened on October 1, 2021, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World.
Ride Experience
Remy's Ratatouille Adventure is a 3D dark ride that uses a trackless ride system. Guests are "shrunk" to the size of a rat and experience the world from the perspective of Remy, the main character from the film. The ride features a combination of physical sets, 3D projections, and special effects to create an immersive experience.
Queue
The queue area is themed to the streets of Paris, with detailed facades and a replica of Gusteau's restaurant from the film. Guests pass through various scenes, including a rooftop view of Paris, before boarding their ride vehicles.
Ride Vehicles
The ride vehicles are designed to look like rats and can move in any direction without a fixed track. This allows for a more dynamic and unpredictable ride experience.
Scenes
The ride includes several key scenes from the film, such as the kitchen of Gusteau's restaurant, a chase through the dining area, and a final scene where Remy prepares a meal for the guests. Each scene is enhanced with 3D projections, physical props, and special effects like heat and water.
Technology
The ride utilizes a trackless ride system, which allows for greater flexibility in movement and a more immersive experience. The combination of 3D projections and physical sets creates a seamless transition between the animated and real-world environments.
Reception
Remy's Ratatouille Adventure has been well-received by both critics and guests. It is praised for its innovative use of technology and its faithful recreation of the film's world. The ride is considered a must-see attraction at both Walt Disney Studios Park and Epcot.
