American attorney and politician



Reinhold Richard "Reince" Priebus (born March 18, 1972) is an American attorney and politician who served as the White House Chief of Staff for President Donald Trump from January 20, 2017, until July 31, 2017. He also served as the Chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC) from 2011 to 2017.

Early life and education

Priebus was born in Dover, New Jersey, and raised in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He graduated from Tremper High School in 1990. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and political science from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater in 1994. Priebus then obtained a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law in 1998.

Early career

After law school, Priebus worked as a clerk for the Wisconsin State Assembly Education Committee. He later joined the law firm Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, where he became a partner.

Political career

Republican National Committee

Priebus was elected as the Chair of the Republican National Committee in January 2011. During his tenure, he focused on improving the party's fundraising and voter outreach efforts. He was re-elected to the position in 2013 and 2015.

White House Chief of Staff

In November 2016, President-elect Donald Trump announced that Priebus would serve as his White House Chief of Staff. Priebus assumed office on January 20, 2017. His tenure was marked by internal conflicts and challenges in managing the White House staff. He resigned on July 28, 2017, and was succeeded by John F. Kelly on July 31, 2017.

Personal life

Priebus is married to Sally L. Sherrow, and they have two children. He is a member of the Greek Orthodox Church.
