Early Life

Stephen Paul Manderson was born in Hackney, London, England. He was raised in a less affluent part of the city, an experience that influenced much of his music. Manderson adopted the stage name Professor Green, which he has said was inspired by his interest in collecting green objects as well as a play on the cannabis culture and his intellectual and witty lyrical style.
