A Professional association (pronunciation: /prəˈfɛʃ(ə)n(ə)l əˈsəʊʃɪˌeɪʃ(ə)n/), also known as a professional body, professional organization, or professional society, is a non-profit organization seeking to further a particular profession, the interests of individuals engaged in that profession, and the public interest.

The etymology of the term "professional association" is derived from the Latin professio, meaning "public declaration", and associatio, meaning "a union or connection of ideas or efforts".
