Primary FRCA

Primary FRCA (/ˈpraɪməri ɛf ɑːr siː eɪ/), also known as the Primary Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, is a professional qualification in the field of anaesthesia. The term "FRCA" stands for "Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists".

Etymology

The term "FRCA" is an acronym derived from the name of the professional body, the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA), which awards the qualification. The term "Primary" refers to the first stage of the FRCA examinations, which must be passed in order to progress to the Final FRCA examinations.
