Plumbing

Plumbing (pronunciation: /ˈplʌmɪŋ/) is a system that conveys fluids for a wide range of applications. Plumbing uses pipes, valves, plumbing fixtures, tanks, and other apparatuses to convey fluids.

Etymology

The word "plumbing" comes from the Latin word for lead, "plumbum". This is because pipes were once made from lead.
