Photos is a digital photograph manipulation and management application developed by Apple Inc. for its macOS and iOS operating systems. Photos was announced at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2014 and released in April 2015 as part of the OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 update. It was designed to replace iPhoto and Aperture, which were discontinued by Apple.
