The Philadelphia Flyers are a professional ice hockey team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They are members of the Metropolitan Division in the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The team was established in 1967 as part of the NHL's first expansion.
History[edit]
The Philadelphia Flyers were one of six teams added to the NHL in the 1967 expansion. The team quickly found success, winning their first Stanley Cup in the 1973–74 season and repeating as champions in the 1974–75 season. The Flyers were known for their physical style of play, earning the nickname "Broad Street Bullies."
Arena[edit]
The Flyers play their home games at the Wells Fargo Center, which they share with the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The arena is located in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex.
Team Colors and Mascot[edit]
The team's colors are orange, black, and white. The Flyers' mascot, Gritty, was introduced in 2018 and has since become a popular figure among fans.

The Flyers have several notable rivalries, including with the Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, and New Jersey Devils. These rivalries are fueled by geographic proximity and frequent playoff matchups.
