Peter Wingfield
Peter Wingfield (born 5 September 1962) is a Welsh actor and former physician. He is best known for his role as Methos in the television series Highlander: The Series.
Early Life and Education
Peter Wingfield was born in Cardiff, Wales. He attended the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals in London, where he trained to become a physician. However, his passion for acting led him to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
Acting Career
Wingfield's acting career began in the early 1990s. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Methos, the oldest living Immortal, in Highlander: The Series. His character became a fan favorite and appeared in multiple seasons of the show.
In addition to his role in Highlander: The Series, Wingfield has appeared in numerous other television series and films. Some of his notable television appearances include roles in Stargate SG-1, 24, Sanctuary, and Caprica. He has also appeared in films such as X2: X-Men United and Catwoman.
Return to Medicine
In 2011, Wingfield made the decision to return to the medical field. He enrolled at the University of Vermont College of Medicine and completed his medical degree. He subsequently began working as an anesthesiologist.
Personal Life
Peter Wingfield is married to Carolyn Stewart, and they have one child together. The family resides in the United States.
