Perm
Perm is a city and the administrative center of Perm Krai, Russia, located on the banks of the Kama River, in the European part of Russia near the Ural Mountains. It is one of the largest cities in Russia and serves as an important cultural, economic, and industrial hub.
History
Perm was founded in 1723 by Vasily Tatishchev and Georg Wilhelm de Gennin as a settlement around the Yegoshikha copper smelter. It gained city status in 1781 and became a significant center for trade and industry. During the Soviet era, Perm was a major industrial city, contributing significantly to the Soviet Union's economy.
Geography
Perm is situated on the western slopes of the Ural Mountains, along the banks of the Kama River, which is a major tributary of the Volga River. The city covers an area of approximately 799.68 square kilometers.

Perm experiences a humid continental climate, characterized by cold winters and warm summers. The average temperature in January is around -14°C, while in July, it averages 18°C.
