Ontario Cancer Institute

From WikiMD's Medical Encyclopedia

The Ontario Cancer Institute (OCI) is the research division of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, affiliated with the University Health Network of the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine. It is Canada's first dedicated cancer hospital, officially opening in 1958. The hospital was later renamed the Princess Margaret Hospital, while the research division retained the name Ontario Cancer Institute (OCI).

Originally located at 500 Sherbourne Street in Toronto, the OCI/PMH moved to its current location at 610 University Avenue in 1995. The OCI continues to serve as the research arm of the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, which changed its name in 2012.
