Obstetrical Nursing

Obstetrical nursing, also known as ob-gyn nursing (pronounced: ob-jeen nursing), is a specialized field of nursing that involves providing care for women during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum period, as well as in gynecology related issues.

Etymology

The term "obstetrical" is derived from the Latin word "obstetricius", which means "pertaining to midwifery". The term "nursing" comes from the Latin word "nutrire", which means "to nourish".
