Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital is a private community hospital located in McHenry, Illinois. It is a division of Northwestern Medicine and serves as a Level II Trauma Center.
History
The hospital was originally established in 1956 as the Northern Illinois Medical Center by Dr. Lee Gladstone. It started as a clinic on Green Street in McHenry and later expanded to include an emergency room, operating room, and inpatient beds. In 1984, a new hospital building was constructed on Illinois Route 31 and Bull Valley Road, and it was renamed Centegra Hospital - McHenry. In 2018, Northwestern Medicine partnered with Centegra Health System and the hospital became part of the Northwestern Medicine network.
