Nicholas Scott Cannon (born October 8, 1980) is an American television host, actor, rapper, and comedian. He was born in San Diego, California. Cannon began his career in television as a teenager on the sketch comedy show All That before going on to host The Nick Cannon Show, Wild 'N Out, America's Got Talent, Lip Sync Battle Shorties, and The Masked Singer.
Early Life
Nick Cannon was born on October 8, 1980, in San Diego, California. He was largely raised by his paternal grandfather. Cannon grew up in the Lincoln Park's Bay Vista Housing Projects, which is a gang-ridden section of Southeast San Diego. He began performing at an early age, and by the time he was a teenager, he had already formed a rap group with his friends.
Career
Music
Cannon formed the rap group Da G4 Dope Bomb Squad as a teenager. He later signed with Jive Records in 2001 and released his debut self-titled album in 2003, which included the hit single "Gigolo", a collaboration with R. Kelly.
Television
Cannon's television career began with a role on the Nickelodeon sketch comedy show All That. He later created and hosted The Nick Cannon Show, a spin-off of All That. Cannon gained further prominence as the host of Wild 'N Out, a comedy improv show that has featured numerous guest stars and has become a staple on MTV.
In 2009, Cannon became the host of America's Got Talent, a role he held until 2016. He has also hosted Lip Sync Battle Shorties and currently hosts The Masked Singer.
Film
Cannon has appeared in several films, including Drumline (2002), Love Don't Cost a Thing (2003), and Roll Bounce (2005). He has also done voice work for animated films such as Garfield: The Movie (2004).
Business Ventures
In addition to his entertainment career, Cannon has been involved in various business ventures. He is the chairman of the TeenNick network and the development and creative consultant of the network since 2009. He also founded the record label N'Credible Entertainment.
Personal Life
Cannon married singer Mariah Carey in 2008, and the couple had twins, Monroe and Moroccan, in 2011. They divorced in 2016. Cannon has several other children from different relationships.

Cannon is known for his philanthropic efforts. He has been involved with various charities and has worked to support youth education and empowerment.
