New Mexico State University
New Mexico State University (NMSU or NM State) is a public university located in Las Cruces, New Mexico, United States. It is the oldest public institution of higher education in the state of New Mexico and was founded in 1888 as Las Cruces College. The university later became the New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts, a designation it held until 1960 when it was renamed New Mexico State University. As a comprehensive research institution, it offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs.
History
The history of NMSU dates back to 1888, when it was initially established as Las Cruces College.
