Mrs. Winner's Chicken & Biscuits

From WikiMD's Medical Encyclopedia

Mrs. Winner's Chicken & Biscuits is a chain of fast-food restaurants based in the United States. The chain was founded in 1979 by Jack Massey, a businessman who was also involved in the early growth of Kentucky Fried Chicken and Hospital Corporation of America.

History[edit]

Mrs. Winner's Chicken & Biscuits was originally part of the Winner's Corporation, which was founded by Jack Massey in 1979. The company initially grew rapidly, expanding to over 184 locations by 1986. However, the company faced financial difficulties in the late 1980s and early 1990s, leading to a series of ownership changes and restructurings.

In 2010, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, citing high food costs and a challenging economic environment. The company was subsequently purchased by Global Restaurant Group, which has since worked to revitalize the brand.

Menu[edit]

The menu at Mrs. Winner's Chicken & Biscuits primarily features fried chicken, biscuits, and a variety of side dishes. The chain is particularly known for its 'country-style' meals, which include a main dish, two sides, and a biscuit. Other popular menu items include chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, and breakfast items.

Locations[edit]

As of 2021, Mrs. Winner's Chicken & Biscuits operates locations in several states, including Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. The company has plans for further expansion in the coming years.
