Mount Sinai Hospital (Cleveland) is a historical medical institution located in Cleveland, Ohio. It was established in 1903 and was renowned for its contributions to medical research and patient care.

Mount Sinai Hospital was founded by a group of Jewish physicians at a time when Jewish doctors and patients faced discrimination in many American hospitals. The hospital was initially located in a small house on Woodland Avenue before moving to a larger facility on East 32nd Street in 1916. In 1956, the hospital moved to a new, modern facility on East 105th Street.

Medical Contributions[edit]

Mount Sinai Hospital was known for its pioneering work in several medical fields. The hospital was one of the first in the country to establish a cardiac catheterization lab, and it was also a leader in the development of pacemaker technology. The hospital's radiology department was one of the first to use computed tomography (CT) scanning technology.

Mount Sinai Hospital closed in 2000 due to financial difficulties. The hospital's legacy continues through the Mount Sinai Health Care Foundation, which supports health-related projects in the Cleveland area.
