Monique Ryan (born 20 January 1967) is an Australian politician and paediatric neurologist. She is a member of the Australian House of Representatives, representing the Division of Kooyong since the 2022 federal election. Ryan is a member of the Greens and has been an advocate for climate action, healthcare reform, and social justice.
Early life and education[edit]
Monique Ryan was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. She attended local schools before pursuing higher education at the University of Melbourne, where she completed a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). Ryan furthered her studies in paediatric neurology, completing her training at the Royal Children's Hospital and later at the Boston Children's Hospital in the United States.
Medical career[edit]
Ryan's medical career has been distinguished by her work in paediatric neurology. She served as the Director of the Neurology Department at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, where she was involved in both clinical practice and research. Her research interests included rare neurological disorders in children, and she has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed medical journals.

Monique Ryan entered politics as a candidate for the Division of Kooyong in the 2022 federal election.
