Molecular clock
Molecular clock is a technique in molecular biology that uses the mutation rate of biomolecules to deduce the time in prehistory when two or more life forms diverged. The molecular clock concept is based on an observed evolutionary phenomenon that some genes and regions in an organism's genome evolve at constant rates.
