Short definitionmodified radical hysterectomy - (pronounced) (MAH-dih-FIDE RA-dih-kul HIS-teh-REK-toh-mee) Surgery to remove the uterus, cervix, upper part of the vagina, and surrounding ligaments and tissues. The ovaries, fallopian tubes, or nearby lymph nodes may also be removed.
