Michele Ferrero
Michele Ferrero was an Italian entrepreneur. He is known for owning the chocolate manufacturer Ferrero SpA, the second largest chocolate producer and confectionery company in the world.
Early Life
Michele Ferrero was born on 26th April 1925 in Dogliani, Italy. His parents, Pietro and Piera Ferrero, owned a small bakery in Alba, a town in the Piedmont region of Italy.
Career
In 1946, after World War II, Michele and his father Pietro started making Nutella, a sweet paste made from hazelnuts and cocoa, which became a popular spread worldwide. In 1957, after the death of his father, Michele took over the family business and expanded it into a worldwide company.
Ferrero SpA
Under Michele's leadership, Ferrero SpA introduced many successful confectionery products to the market. These include Kinder Chocolate, Ferrero Rocher, Mon Chéri, and Tic Tac. The company also expanded its operations to several countries around the world.
Personal Life
Michele Ferrero was married to Maria Franca Fissolo. They had two sons, Pietro and Giovanni. Pietro served as the CEO of Ferrero SpA until his death in 2011. After Pietro's death, Giovanni took over as the CEO of the company.
Death and Legacy
Michele Ferrero died on 14th February 2015 in Monte Carlo, Monaco. He left behind a legacy as one of the richest men in the world and the owner of a company that produces some of the most popular confectionery products in the world.
