Maspeth is a residential and commercial neighborhood in the borough of Queens, New York City. It is bordered to the north by Woodside, to the east by Elmhurst and Middle Village, to the south by Ridgewood and Glendale, and to the west by Greenpoint in Brooklyn.

The name "Maspeth" is derived from the Algonquian term for "bad water place," referring to the many swamps and marshes in the area.
