Maryland (mɛrɪlənd)
Maryland is a state located in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States, bordering Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia to its south and west; Pennsylvania to its north; and Delaware to its east.
Etymology
The state's name is in honor of Queen Henrietta Maria (1609–1669), the wife of King Charles I of England.
