MAP3K11
MAP3K11 (Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase Kinase Kinase 11), also known as MLK3 (Mixed Lineage Kinase 3), is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the MAP3K11 gene. It is a member of the MAP kinase kinase kinase (MAP3K) family, a key component in the Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway. This pathway is crucial for various cellular functions, including proliferation, differentiation, and response to stress.
Function
MAP3K11/MLK3 is a serine/threonine kinase that activates the MAP kinases ERK, JNK, and p38 MAP kinase through the phosphorylation of their respective MAP kinase kinases. It is activated by various stimuli, including growth factors, cytokines, and environmental stresses. Once activated, MAP3K11/MLK3 transduces signals that are essential for cellular responses to external stimuli. It plays a significant role in the regulation of apoptosis, cell growth, and development. Structure

Clinical Significance
