The Loramie Creek American Viticultural Area (AVA) is a designated wine grape-growing region located in the state of Ohio, United States. It was established by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) on July 20, 1985. The AVA is named after Loramie Creek, a tributary of the Great Miami River that flows through the region.
Geography
The Loramie Creek AVA is situated in western Ohio, primarily within Shelby County. It covers an area of approximately 67 square miles (173 square kilometers). The AVA is characterized by its gently rolling hills and fertile soils, which are ideal for grape cultivation.
