LifePoint Health is a private American healthcare company that provides services in growing regions, rural communities, and small towns. It was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in Brentwood, Tennessee. As of November 2018, LifePoint Health operated 89 hospital campuses in 30 states, generating over $6 billion in revenue.

In 2011, LifePoint Health was selected by the Department of Health and Human Services to be part of the Hospital Engagement Network, making it the only private organization in the country to receive this recognition.

History

In February 2014, LifePoint Health opened its new hospital support center in Brentwood.

In December 2013, LifePoint Health entered into a joint venture agreement with Portage Health to share ownership and operation of Portage Health, with a $40 million funding for a charitable foundation.

In June 2013, LifePoint Health completed the acquisition of Bell Hospital.

LifePoint Health's Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Lanny Copeland, was recognized as one of the 50 Most Influential Physician Executives by Modern Healthcare and Modern Physician magazines in 2009, 2010, and 2011.
