Kristanna Loken

Kristanna Loken (born October 8, 1979) is an American actress and model. She is best known for her roles in science fiction and action films, most notably as the cyborg T-X in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003). Loken has also appeared in a variety of television series, including Painkiller Jane (2007), where she played the titular character, and has been involved in several independent films.

Early Life

Kristanna Sommer Loken was born in Ghent, New York, to Rande (née Porath), a model, and Merlin "Chris" Loken, a writer and apple farmer. She is of Norwegian and German descent. Loken began her modeling career at the age of 15, working for the Elite Model Management agency. She transitioned to acting in 1994, making her debut in an episode of the soap opera As the World Turns.

Career

Loken's early career was marked by appearances in various television series, including Law & Order and Star Trek: Voyager. Her breakthrough role came in 2003 when she was cast as the T-X, the first female terminator, in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. Her performance in the film was well-received and significantly raised her profile in Hollywood.

Following her role in Terminator 3, Loken starred in the Sci-Fi Channel series Painkiller Jane, based on the comic book character of the same name. Although the series was short-lived, it further established Loken as a versatile actress capable of leading roles.

In addition to her work in film and television, Loken has also appeared in several independent films, including BloodRayne (2005), a film adaptation of the video game of the same name, and The L Word (2007-2008), where she played the role of Paige Sobel.

Personal Life

Kristanna Loken has been open about her bisexuality and has been involved in various relationships with both men and women throughout her career. She has one child, born in 2016.
