Kimbal Musk (born September 20, 1972) is a South African-born American entrepreneur, restaurateur, and philanthropist. He is the co-founder of several companies and organizations, including The Kitchen Restaurant Group, Big Green, and Square Roots. Musk is also known for his involvement in the food and agriculture sectors, advocating for sustainable and healthy food systems.
Early life and education[edit]
Kimbal Musk was born in Pretoria, South Africa, to Maye Musk, a model and dietitian, and Errol Musk, an electromechanical engineer. He is the younger brother of Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla.
Musk attended high school in South Africa before moving to Canada to attend Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. He later transferred to the University of Colorado Boulder, where he earned a degree in business.

Zip2[edit]
In 1995, Kimbal Musk co-founded Zip2 with his brother Elon Musk and Greg Kouri. Zip2 was a software company that provided business directories and maps for newspapers. The company was sold to Compaq for $307 million in 1999.
The Kitchen Restaurant Group[edit]

In 2004, Musk co-founded The Kitchen Restaurant Group, a family of community restaurants located in Colorado, Chicago, and Indianapolis. The restaurants focus on serving real food sourced from local farmers. The Kitchen has been recognized for its commitment to sustainability and community engagement.
Big Green[edit]
In 2011, Musk founded Big Green, a nonprofit organization that builds "Learning Gardens" in schools across the United States. These gardens are designed to teach children about healthy eating, nutrition, and the environment. Big Green aims to connect children to real food and empower them to make healthier food choices.
Square Roots[edit]
