Kampala
Kampala (/kæmˈpɑːlə/ kam-PAH-lə) is the capital and largest city of Uganda. The city is divided into five boroughs that oversee local planning. Kampala is located in the southern part of the country, near the shores of Lake Victoria.
Etymology
The name "Kampala" originates from the Buganda word "kasozi k'empala", which means "the hill of antelopes". The city was named after the numerous species of antelopes that inhabited the hills of the region.
