Johnson & Wales University (JWU) is a private university with its main campus in Providence, Rhode Island. History
Johnson & Wales University was established in 1914 by Gertrude I. Johnson and Mary T. Wales. The founders were pioneers in business education for women, and they aimed to provide practical, career-focused education. The school initially offered secretarial and business courses.
