Joe's Steaks + Soda Shop was originally opened as Joe's Steak Shop by its founder, Joe Tucker, in the Torresdale neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia. The shop was a local favorite for its straightforward, no-frills approach to the classic Philly cheesesteak. In 1999, the shop was purchased by long-time employee John Doe, who added a vintage soda fountain to the establishment, thus rebranding it as Joe's Steaks + Soda Shop.
Menu[edit]
The menu at Joe's Steaks + Soda Shop primarily features Philly cheesesteaks, made with thinly sliced rib-eye steak, melted cheese, and onions, served on a fresh Amoroso roll. In addition to its original Torresdale location, Joe's Steaks + Soda Shop has a second location in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia, which opened in 2013.
