Job Caudwell
John David Caudwell (born 7 October 1952) is a British billionaire businessman and philanthropist. He is the co-founder of the mobile phone retailer Phones 4u. Caudwell is known for his significant contributions to various charitable causes and his involvement in numerous business ventures.
Early Life
John Caudwell was born in Birmingham, England. He grew up in Stoke-on-Trent, where he attended Berry Hill High School. Caudwell's early life was marked by a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit, which would later define his career.
Career
Phones 4u
In 1987, Caudwell co-founded Midland Mobile Phones, which later became known as Phones 4u. The company grew rapidly, becoming one of the largest independent mobile phone retailers in the United Kingdom. In 2006, Caudwell sold the business for £1.46 billion.
Other Ventures
After selling Phones 4u, Caudwell invested in various sectors, including property, fashion, and technology. He has a significant property portfolio and has been involved in the development of luxury residential properties.
