International Association of Fire Fighters
The International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) is a labor union representing professional firefighters and emergency medical services (EMS) personnel in the United States and Canada. The IAFF is affiliated with the AFL-CIO in the United States and the Canadian Labour Congress in Canada.
History
The IAFF was founded on February 28, 1918, in Washington, D.C., with the goal of improving the working conditions and safety of firefighters. The union has grown significantly since its inception, now representing over 320,000 members in more than 3,500 affiliates.
Structure
The IAFF is governed by a General President, a General Secretary-Treasurer, and a 16-member Executive Board. The Executive Board is composed of vice presidents representing the union's 16 districts, which are divided geographically across the United States and Canada.

The primary objectives of the IAFF include:
- Advocating for better wages, benefits, and working conditions for its members.
