Immature

Immature (/ɪˈmætʃər, -ˈmɑːtʃʊər, -ˈmætʃʊər, -ˈmætʃər/), from the Latin immaturus meaning "not ripe", is a term used in various medical contexts to describe a state of incomplete development or growth.

For example, an immature neuron is one that has not yet developed the specialized structures necessary for transmitting nerve impulses. Similarly, an immature immune system is one that has not yet fully developed its ability to fight off infections.
