Short definitionHycamtin (hy-KAM-Zinn) A medicine used alone or with other medicines to treat certain types of ovarian cancer, small cell lung cancer and cervical cancer. It is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer. Hycamtin blocks a specific enzyme needed for cell division and DNA repair, and it can kill cancer cells. It is a type of topoisomerase inhibitor and a type of camptothecin analog. Also known as topotecan hydrochloride
