Hostel
Hostel (/ˈhɒstəl/ or /ˈhɒstl/) is a term used to describe a budget-oriented, shared-room ("dormitory") accommodation where guests can rent a bed, usually a bunk bed, in a dormitory and share a bathroom, lounge, and sometimes a kitchen. Rooms can be mixed or single-sex, and private rooms may also be available.
Etymology
The term hostel comes from the Latin word hospes, which means "guest" or "stranger". The word was first used in the English language in the 14th century to refer to a townhouse or inn where travelers could find lodging.
