Hindi (हिन्दी)
Hindi (IPA: /ˈhɪndi/; Devanagari: हिन्दी, IAST: Hindī), is an Indo-Aryan language spoken chiefly in India. It is one of the 22 scheduled languages of the Republic of India.

Etymology
The term 'Hindi' is derived from the Persian word Hind, meaning 'Land of the Indus River'. It was originally used to refer to the people living in the region of the Indus River.
