Heartbeat International

Heartbeat International (pronounced: Heart-beat In-ter-na-tion-al) is a global network of pregnancy help organizations. It was founded in 1971 and is currently headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, United States.

Etymology

The name "Heartbeat International" is derived from the organization's mission to protect and preserve the heartbeat of unborn children by supporting pregnancy help centers, maternity homes, and nonprofit adoption agencies.

History

Heartbeat International was founded in 1971 by Dr. John Hillabrand, a gynecologist from Ohio. The organization started as a network of pregnancy help centers in the United States but has since expanded to include more than 2,800 affiliated pregnancy help locations, maternity homes, and nonprofit adoption agencies in more than 60 countries.

Services

Heartbeat International provides a variety of services to its affiliates, including training, resources, and support. The organization also operates a 24-hour hotline that offers immediate assistance and support to women facing unplanned pregnancies.
