A Healthy environment (pronunciation: /ˈhelTHē/ /ɪnˈvīrənmənt/) is a term used to describe an environment that promotes and supports the well-being of all living organisms. It is an environment that is free from pollutants, toxins, and other harmful substances that can cause harm to the health of humans, animals, and plants.

Etymology

The term "Healthy environment" is derived from the English words "healthy" and "environment". "Healthy" comes from the Old English "hǣlþ", meaning "wholeness, a being whole, sound or well," and "environment" comes from the French "environner", meaning "to surround".
